Need more customers in 2019?
66% of small business owners say that finding new customers is a TOP CONCERN. It’s January, and by now you have a good idea of how well you met last years goals. Whether you had a great 2018 or not, I’m guessing you would like this year to be better than the last. If this is true, then research shows you have a better chance of succeeding in that goal by finding new customers. Interested?
Having a strong and effective online presence is key to finding new customers and retaining existing customers. Here are some statistics that back up this claim:
- Studies show that between 70-80% of people research a company
online BEFORE visiting the small business or making a purchase with them (does
your website properly showcase your business?) Business Insider
, 2017
- 50% of search queries today are made on smartphones, and this
percentage will grow to 70% by 2020 (is your website mobile friendly and load
fast?). Google, 2017
- Mobile marketing can accelerate time to purchase by 20% BCG
,
2017
- Almost 90% of marketers say their social marketing efforts have
increased exposure for their business, and 75% say they’ve increased traffic Vendasta
, 2017
- 84% of users would abandon a purchase if data was sent over an unsecure connection (is your website secure – HTTPS?)
Here are three big reasons why websites underperform:
- They are not Mobile Friendly! More than half of the consumers today searching for a product or service do so from a mobile phone. If your website does not meet today’s ‘mobile friendly’ standards, you are missing out on potentially 50% or more traffic.
- They are mobile friendly but load slow! The average mobile webpage still takes 15.3 seconds to load. Sites we develop load on average between 3 – 5 seconds. Google studies show that the expected bounce rate for that range is 32%. That’s a normal bounce rate (according to Google). Sites that load in 10 seconds experience a 123% bounce rate.
- They are not ‘trustworthy’! In Google’s ever-changing algorithm for SEO rankings, one of the latest is the inclusion of websites using SSL certificates as a factor of their ‘trustworthiness’. Having an SSL certificate on your website is the new standard!
If you believe your online presence could use a tune-up, more specifically your website exhibits at least one of the three shortcomings listed above, you are a great candidate for a website redesign project. We are the website redesign experts! We build effective websites using ‘responsive’ technology, so that the website automatically adjusts based on the device the viewer sees it in. Responsive design means our websites load fast (on average 3 seconds fast), are hosted on business class servers, and provide SSL security (HTTPS) to ensure that all data transmitted in between the web service and browser remains encrypted.
